VOCAL HARMONIZATION (GROUP)
This workshop approaches the teaching of vocal
technique to beginners. Emphasis will focus on both the methodology and exercises
for teaching of vocal "tools" for the participants.
WOODWINDS
Music Instruction on flute, clarinet or saxophone.
MUSIC THEORY FOR BEGINNERS (GROUP)
Introduction to music notation and elementary
music theory for persons without formal training or those needing a refresher
course. Participants learn traditional notation, terminology, key and time
signatures, rhythm, meter, all major and minor scales, intervals and elementary
ear training.
Requirements/Prerequisites: Each
participant should have a music manuscript book.
INTERMEDIATE THEORY II (GROUP)
This workshop is designed for participants with
prior experience or continuation of Music Theory I. Practical course developing
the participants' ability is sight singing and music dictation using easy
diatonic melodies, simple and compound meters, simple intervals and common rhythms.

LECTURE SERIES
Each participant will be required to attend
Lecture Series Workshops to be held once a month. These workshops will include
site visits to other churches where Pastor and musicians of that church will
discuss the relationship between the two and share their worship service or
liturgy. The Pastor and musician may alternate between the school site and their
church site. There will be school trips to organ and piano factories, concerts,
and other places of musical interest to our students.
